In response to an invitation from the Syrian Ministry of Oil and that of Environment, Professor El-Sayed Ahmed El-Tayeb, the principal investigator for the petroleum and petrochemicals engineering consultations project, has conducted a visit to the Arab Republic of Syria from 19 - 25 September 2008, together with Prof. Dr. Abdul Sattar Dahab and Prof. Dr. Fatma El-Zahraa Ashour, the consultants in the fields of petroleum and petrochemicals engineering and the members of the Petroleum and Petrochemicals Engineering Consultation (PPEC) Group. The main focus of the visit was to notify the representatives of both ministries about the various activities of DRTPC and identify the possible channels for mutual cooperation between the Ministries of Oil and Environment and DRTPC, represented by PPEC Group. Prof. El-Tayeb announced that preparations for a number of proposals for research projects and consultations in which the Syrian side exhibited strong interest to accomplish in cooperation with DRTPC are underway.
